Official travelers include Soldiers on Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments, Soldiers and their Families undergoing Permanent Changes of Station (PCS), and any others traveling on official military business (including civilian and government travelers). Those in PCS status will continue to be categorized as official travelers even beyond the ten days associated with their Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) authorization.
Unofficial travelers are individuals who have been granted access to travel on-post, but are not traveling due to official military orders. These individuals include: family members of Soldiers, retired military personnel, contractors, and visiting business persons. Individuals must have on-post access to stay at an IHG Army Hotel.
